The Haircut

The mullet thing was cute when his hair was all curly and such ... but in recent days, Jake's long hair in the back was straightening out, making him an unfortunate candidate for inclusion on this site.

So, we picked a very kid-friendly, happy haircuttery in the Toys 'R' Us store nearby. Kids could play video games (below) while they waited, had their choice of video to watch (we picked "Blue's Clues") and even had the option of sitting in a toy car while the stylist did there thing.

The pre-cut video games were a big hit.

The cut itself? Well ...

Let's sum it up by saying that the hair did get cut ... perhaps not as evenly as one would prefer, but that certainly wasn't the stylist's fault. I had to hold Jake down throughout the procedure (see the tear stains on my sleeve) and we eventually called it "good enough."

I have no idea how much money the women at these cutteries make, but it's not nearly enough.

TV Dinners Rule!

Jake gives thumbs-up to the incredibly dip-able pizza Kids Meal we tried out a couple weeks ago.

Surfin' ...

Jake's favorite time to unwind after a long day at Habibi's? Watching "Blue's Clues" videos on the computer ... accompanied by a giant hunk of bread, of course.

Thanks Aunt Judy and Uncle Phil!

A somewhat belated Christmas present arrived Wednesday, via Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's house.

Jake was deeply into both Elmos, although we were all disappointed the Potty Training Elmo didn't threaten us, as some potty-oriented Elmos have been known to do.

Thanks again!
